The only thing you hear about Dual-Write integrations are horror stories, people unhappy with the technology, the implementation process, or the result within their project. Finding a success story feels a lot like searching for a needle in a haystack. Yannick truly believes dual-write could be a viable integration solution between Dataverse and F&O.

First there is a lot of work with customers on the architecture phase of dual-write implementations: discussing what data needs to be synced, does it all need to be there or is a subset enough? How to design the integration, what mappings are needed, and how does it all fit together?

Architectural and technological considerations when implementing a Dual-Write integration

It is as yet unknown if artificial intelligence is more akin to a “great invention” of the 19th and 20th centuries, or if it will ultimately represent another more incremental evolution of existing capabilities. The former—as seems more likely given the immense investments being made today—will present significant challenges to nearly every organization that, having become accustomed to incremental change, is suddenly faced with a “great inventions” caliber paradigm shift that AI seems to portend. Or, as I continue to remind the CIOs with whom I work closely, the grace period for organizations to get their act together and position themselves for the next wave is growing much shorter, the margin for error much more narrow. In this session we will explore AI strategies that are flexible, able to absorb tomorrow what we don’t fully grasp today, strategies that offer value to the organization beyond specific AI-driven workloads because the nature and value of these workloads will remain unclear for some time. Power BI wird oft als einzelnes Tool statt als Teil der Power Platform wahrgenommen. Dies liegt auch an den lange sehr unzureichenden Ingegrationsmöglichkeiten der verschiedenen Tools. Doch das hat sich mittlerweile geändert. Daher möchte ich euch die verschiedenen Integrationsmöglichkeiten zwischen Power BI und den anderen Komponenten der Power Platfrom aufzeigen.

1. Power Automate your Power BI:
Microsoft hat schon länger einen Power BI Konnektor für Power Automate entwickelt. Im Mai 2022 wurde dieser nochmal erweitert. Daher möchte ich zeigen wie ihr Daten aus Power BI in euren Power Automate Flows verwenden könnt.

2. Power BI meets Power Apps:
Ich kann auch Power BI und Power Apps mittlerweile besser miteinander verknüpfen.
Wir schauen uns dafür einerseits an, wie ich eine Power App in einem Power BI Report einbetten kann. Andererseits schauen wir uns auch an welche Möglichkeiten ich habe Power BI in Power Apps zu verknüpfen.

ChatGPT und andere Modelle werden an vielen Stellen der persönliche Assistent an unserer Seite, natürlich auch innerhalb von Apps und Flows. Als Antwort liefern die aber nur Strings, also Texte. In der Welt von Datenbanken und strukturierten Frontends ist das äußerst unpraktisch, um die Antworten unserer Roboterfreunde automatisch weiterzuverarbeiten.
Mit diesem kleinen Trick ändert sich aber alles – neben englisch und anderen Fremdsprachen kann so ein Modell nämlich auch eine Sprache, die die Power Platform bestens versteht: JSON.
