Microsoft Loop: Empowering Data Governance and Compliance

Poor navigation can significantly hinder the success of a SharePoint implementation. When users struggle to find what they're looking for within three clicks, they may lose focus and turn to other solutions, leading to a decline in user adoption. Another common issue with navigation is when it directs users through a convoluted path of multiple pages or sites before reaching their destination. While users may eventually find what they're looking for, they may resort to bookmarking the page to avoid repeating the process. While this may seem like a convenient solution for the user, it can actually be detrimental to the SharePoint implementation. The purpose of SharePoint is to facilitate collaboration, and if users are bypassing the home page by bookmarking sites, they may miss important information that the company is trying to share. As a result, the home page becomes obsolete, site editors stop updating it, and collaboration is reduced to the content sites, leading to a breakdown in company communication.

In this session, we'll explore both the "classic" navigation within classic team sites and the new Cascading and Mega Menu options within modern sites. We'll discuss best practices for navigation, how to streamline your existing navigation to make it more user-friendly and impactful, and how to turn it into a standout feature of your site.
