Software is alive—give it a solid structure, guide its growth, and let it thrive.

Next, we dive into one particular toolset and architecture: .NET 8, C#, and modular monoliths, enriched with elements of Domain-Driven Design (DDD). This is the foundation I've used — and witnessed being used — to build numerous production systems in recent years.

My stance on testing may be unpopular: I dislike unit tests but view neglecting integration tests as nearly criminal. The goal is not just to get software into production, but to ensure it works well once it's there. Testing in production is a powerful approach, and this tutorial will present practical methods to implement it effectively.

Lastly, we’ll focus on code quality. The key to a robust production system lies in deep domain analysis and translating the business language faithfully into code. C#, in particular, offers robust features for this. While AI is often spotlighted as the future of software, it’s still just software.

The core principles of software development, much like mathematics, have remained unchanged since the 1970s—and they will continue to underpin everything we build.

Mastering Solutions: A Developer's Journey from Fundamentals to Advanced Techniques

Power BI provides a rich set of tools for analyzing data at rest. For data in motion, there are approaches to help reduce or eliminate data latency, but they can provide a bit of a challenge. The Real Time Intelligence (RTI) workload within Microsoft is designed with this purpose in mind. RTI is focused on monitoring with near zero data latency to address the needs of data in Motion.
This session will describe the RTI workload in Fabric, which includes Eventhouse (otherwise known as Kusto or Azure Data Explorer), Event Streams, which include the capabilities of Azure Event Hub and Azure Streaming Analytics, Real Time Dashboards, and Data Activator, which allows you to take action on data in near real time.
